This year I am all about crafty kids so I'm thinking of kits for the pint sized family and friends for the holidays this year.
Stay tuned for ideas on how to make up your own crafty kids kit, but if there isn't enough time (or energy) to gather the supplies and put it together yourself here are some great finds from the DIY craft world.
One of my favorite kid craft product sites is The Woolery. On their kids page you'll find drop spindles, spinning wheels, looms, rug hooking, felting, and needlepoint kits. There's something for almost any age.
I really want the sheep rug hooking kit and beginning abstract needlepoint kit (photo above) for myself.
Peace Fleece has the cutest kids learn to knit kits (photo above) that include small worsted weight skeins, 6" knitting needles and a knitting bag which are both handmade by Moscow artisans.
Other kid kits on this page are:
Chunky Potholder Kit and Doll Clothes Kit
Doll House Rug Hooking Kit (photo above)
Felting Kits, including Flock Kit (makes a shepard and 6 sheep), Snowman Kit or Earth Ball Kit
Head over to Etsy and you'll find cute kits put together by independent artisans and crafters.
Sew Your Own Birdie Kit (photo above) from Handmade Childhood is a super cute beginning sewing kit for ages 3 and up.
Bracelet Kit (photo above) from Handmade Living and
Jewelry Kit from Julianas Creations both include an array of candy colored beads and elastic string and are perfect for ages 5 and up.
Lip Balm Kit from Summit Sensations - makes four flavored lip balms. Great for stocking stuffers and for kids ages 8 and up.
Finally, Hearthsong is another fun site for kid materials. They have a kit for any craft you can imagine from needle arts and jewelry making to kits for the young architect.
