Seismic Hat class at Village Yarn and Tea, this Sunday. Have you signed up?

Seismic Hat Project
Crochet goes seismic! This class will show you how to take your basic crochet skills to the next level while making a unique hat that will impress your friends and family. Worked from the top down, the Seismic Hat will help students learn a variety of skills, including how to work in the round, making an adjustable ring, how to make crochet stitches of varying height, shaping, and how to work into different parts of the stitch. If you've always wanted to know what comes next in crochet, this is the class for you. Basic crochet experience required.
Where: Village Yarn & Tea When: Sun. May 16 2-5 pm

Also, Village Yarn and Tea is hosting a Retro Potholder Swap. Here are the details found on the VY&T group on Ravelry. This sounds like so much fun!

When:
11 a.m. Saturday, June 26th at Village Yarn & Tea

How to Participate:
Please sign up by filling out the sheet at Village Yarn & Tea or message goodtobegirl on ravelry with the following information - Name, email address and ravelry name. Sign up isn’t required but we are going to have a few treats at the swap so an estimated number or participants would be helpful.

Pot Holder Requirements:
You need to bring 4 crocheted pot holders done in the same pattern. Colors can (and should!) vary, but the pattern must be the same. The pot holders need to measure between 7 and 8 inches across and must be double thick. Do the pattern twice and join at the edge (back side can be plain). Pot holders need to be functional so this is an important requirement - if pot holders are not double thick you won’t be included in the swap. A tighter gauge is also helpful.

Yarn Requirements:
For this swap please only use cotton yarn! No blends. If you have questions please ask, we have plenty of suggestions for appropriate yarn.

Labeling
Please use the provided labels (available at Village Yarn & Tea). Please have them labeled before 11 a.m. on the day of the swap. Details we would like you to provide include care instructions and your name. Additional details would be the yarn and pattern information.

On the day of the swap please arrive on time. We will be collecting the pot holders promptly at 11. You will receive an assortment of 4 different pot holders in return shortly after! Stay for a few treats and to show off your pot holders!
