International Crochet Day, Friday, September 12th 2008!
How will you celebrate the day?
A few bloggers have decided to celebrate and promote the art of crochet by offering up some giveaways.
ETA: I will be giving away one Croshay Design PDF pattern. For details see my next post here.
Jimbo, of Jimbo's Front Porch, is giving away one of his beautiful hand carved crochet hooks. To enter just post a comment in his blog with a very short statement about what you are going to do on International Crochet Day to promote the art. Or you can email him at jimbocrochetwhittler@yahoo.com.
Jen, of Bits & Pieces, is doing her part to promote crochet by offering up a complete set of her Fit for a King or Queen Crown patterns. She is also giving away one Crown pattern and one of her Adventure Set patterns. All you have to do is leave a comment. If your kids are pint sized thespians as much as mine are, they will love for you to make them one of these crowns. Would love to see a mini crocheted Macbeth scene in my house.
Stitchlilly is giving away the cutest darned crocheted kitty. The kitty even knows how to crochet irish lace! It's as simple as leaving a comment.
Susan, The Cosmic Crocheter, wants to know how you'll be celebrating the day. Leave a comment for your chance to win a handmade canary wood hook and special surprise.
How can you participate in Int'l Crochet Day, you ask?
- Crochet in public..at school..at work - I'm usually crocheting on the playground after school
- Teach someone to crochet - young kids can learn to finger crochet
- Support crochet designers, by buying a pattern (I couldn't wait)
- Or how about a book?
- Wear something crocheted
- Promote crochet on your blog
- Pick up a hook and make something
- Complete an UFO for a personal celebration

Thanks for the post - I would have never known!
I posted about it too, after reading Regina's "Monster Crochet" blog that referenced Jimbo's blog!
