Seismic - New and Improved!
The pattern in this hat reminds me of my hometown, Los Angeles, which is known for its earthquakes. To create the unique texture you will work the stitches into a loop not normally used in most stitch patterns. It's simple enough for a beginner who is ready to shake things up and move beyond the basic stitches.
Finished size
21” circumference x 8” high, fits 20-23” head size
Materials
Worsted weight wool (CYCA #4 medium), 170 yds
Shown in Cascade 220 (100% wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]): color #9420 teal)
5 mm (H/8) hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Gauge 14 sts x 12 rows = 4” (10 cm) in hdc-rib.
