Crochet Me Book Launch - Seattle

signing my pattern
Yesterday was the Crochet Me book launch with promotional parties happening in yarn shops across the country. I was the guest at the Seattle event hosted by Hilltop Yarn and Needlepoint on beautiful Queen Anne. (Note: at the intersection by the yarn shop there was a Tullys, Starbucks, Peets Coffee, Cafe LLadro, and Tea Shop - there is no escaping the caffeine in this neighborhood).hilltop queen anne
Hilltop is a beautiful, cozy shop owned by Jennifer Hill. They have tons of yarn and a very friendly, experienced staff who also contribute to the stores brand of patterns called Decidedly Hilltop.
The party went very well. There was caffeine (see first paragraph) and cookies and yarn and chatting. I met some fabulous people and even met Amanda, a quilter/knitter/crocheter friend from Ravelry and LJ, in person!amanda and me
Oh, and there was cake! Yarn, coffee, and cake. How much better could it get?

Signed copies of my first book, Crochet Away!, are now available on Etsy.

Crochet Away! is a how-to crochet book geared toward tweens and teens ages 8 and up. In order to get started right away, the book comes with yarn, a hook, yarn needle, 8 beginner patterns and super simple instructions that are complete with illustrations. In addition, the book includes neat tips like how to adjust a hat pattern to fit any size and how to keep from losing stitches.

Each of the simple patterns come with ideas and instructions on how to adjust the pattern so you can customize it to your own personal style.

Patterns include a BFF cuff, beanie hat, scarf, bag, fingerless gloves, flowers, choker, and some cool containers for your desk.
