Two links to share this week:
The Needle Arts Mentoring Program
I just found this site while looking up kids crochet clubs. What a great place to start if you're interested in sharing your mad skillz with kids. With this organization you can sign up to be a needle arts mentor, or even lead a group of mentors, for kids in your own community or school. There are great ideas for how to get started, where to find mentors, supplies, and locations. Check it out if you've been looking to share your enthusiasm for knitting, crochet, embroidery, or any other needle art with the "yutes" of today.
Tall Poppy Craft has a limited but nice selection of handbag supplies, including purse frames, bag handles and straps, rivets, interfacing, and some fabric. The Pros: Unique! Many of the items are made just for their company so you won't find them anywhere else. I especially liked the Mini (finger-sized!) Wood Handles with toggle closure and the Preppy Sew On Handles. The cons: they are primarily based in Australia so shipping is hefty and their selection is limited.
I'll show you what I ordered when I get 'em.
